Charlotte Bax is a Dutch singer-songwriter who creates catchy pop songs with a symphonic touch.

From a very young age she has sung in choirs and played the piano. At the age of 15 she discovered songwriting. After studying at the Prince Claus Conservatorium in Groningen for a few years and graduating from the ArtEZ Conservatorium as a composer and arranger for film music, she decided to go back to her songwriting roots, got some proper singing lessons and transformed herself from a behind-the-scenes-don’t-mind-me-I-don’t-like-attention composer to a performing and stage loving singer-songwriter.

As a songwriter, she is heavily influenced by Tarja Turunen, Enya, Sia and Josh Groban. Her lyrics are mostly inspired by romantic and fantasy literature, such as Jane Austen, JRR Tolkien, JK Rowling and Terry Pratchett. The idea of creating a whole new world for people to escape to for a few minutes incredibly fascinates her, and this escapism is a theme that you see a lot in her songs.

Besides working on covers and her own songs, she’s a pianist for pop choir Pop4You and folk metal band Bard of Valor.

In her spare time she loves to hike, bake cupcakes, drink tea and craft beer (not mixed) and listen to music that’s totally different from hers.
